My husband and I are foodies and decided to give Shogun takeout a try. We never thought to try this place because the outside isn't too appealing, but this is hands down the best sushi in the area. It was fresh and delicious!

Went last night for dinner with the kids. I was unaware that it's under new management. The food was seriously delicious. The service was awesome, the hibachi chef Ken was fantastic!!! He had great energy & tons of tricks & flair!!! The kids LOVED it, and so did the grown-ups! So entertaining, great cocktails, had an excellent time. So much fun! Cannot wait to go back!

We are regulars at Shogun for family parties (birthdays, etc). They accommodated out time of 3:45, was attentive to serving us what we wanted; good service. The Hibachi chef was awesome, he definitely entertained our 1/2 dozen family members with a great show. Food was really good, fresh plentiful and tasty. There was a bit of sticker shock when the bill came though, but the show was worth it.

I totally did not expect this place to be this nice inside and big to what it looks like outside. Very good service and food. The restaurant was busy but we were able to get a table less than 10min for a family of 4, at a hibachi spot where they cook in front of you. Free parking lot available but the spots are very small. Sushi was amazing.

Pleasantly surprised by Shogun. I drive past it all the time so one Friday night we stopped by for dinner. It's really small for a hibachi place and I can see how this can be a fun spot for birthday parties. Service was very good, as was the food. I'm not a hibachi person so I ordered the sushi pizza and some rolls, all very good. Husband really enjoyed his steak and shrimp hibachi too. Will definitely come back. Prices are pretty standard and like all hibachi places, the ambiance is fun. William was our chef and we had a great time with him. Big shout out to their "yummy" sauce (comes with hibachi entrees). It's William's signature sauce and he's been making it there for 12 years. We told him it's so good he should sell it by the bottle.

This place has become my go-to for hibachi and takeout sushi near Long Beach! I've been to the hibachi in person, I thought the service was great and the food was of course delicious. The space is actually quite big (bigger than it looks from the outside anyway) and we had a really nice time. I've also ordered plenty of sushi from here, especially for takeout and I find it to really be of very good quality. The fish is fresh, they have some delicious rolls, and overall the food is consistently good. They also deliver very fast and the food always arrives before the time quoted. Can't wait to order again!
